What led you to Metaphysics?
I was interested since I was a child. My mother was, too, so she would read a book and then give it to me.
I read that a series of coincidences led you to the Tarot. What more can you say about that?
I had just realized that I needed to get a divorce and I went away for a couple of days. During that time, I felt compelled to purchase a Tarot deck. At that time, there was no internet, no Amazon, no Barnes and Noble. I had no idea where to get one, because I had never even seen one. I found a little shop in Evanston, IL called Platypus Books (no longer there), and they had 2 decks. No one there knew which one I should buy or why, so I chose the traditional Rider-Waite Tarot. I couldn’t read that deck at all, and struggled for two years. Then I went to a party that had a woman reading Tarot and she was reading cards out in the main party room. I stood behind her and listened to the ‘client’s’ questions, and as she turned over the cards, I knew exactly what the reader was going to say! In the end, I realized that it was the deck – not me – that needed changing, so I bought that deck and everything changed for the better.
What one piece of advice do you wish someone had given you?
As far as Tarot, I wish I had known to choose a deck that had a theme I felt in harmony with. My deck from all those years ago, and still today, is The Mythic Tarot which is based on Greek Mythology, which I love.
What got you interested in coaching? What do you love about coaching?
In 2007 I made a commitment to figure out how to bring my business online. It was a very long and very expensive process, but I threw myself into it and I learned so much! After I had proven myself TO myself for a few years, I realized I could help others do the same – because readers tend to be more right-brained and sometimes avoid learning business frameworks. My gift is to break it down for even the most resistant client.
You have done a number of things and are learned and practiced in a number of different modalities. Do you have a favorite or a preference?
My favorite is Tarot. I became a Reiki IV master just to keep my own pathways clear, so to speak. Numerology has always fascinated me, but I have not yet mastered it.
How did you decide to begin holding a gathering for metaphysical practitioners?
I teach at a center in Lombard, IL called The Gathering Lighthouse. It’s a 1.5 hr drive from my house. There, I’ve met many, many psychics, and in 2014 I thought I’d turn the tables and invite them out to my log cabin on a lake in the woods to get out of the city, breathe some country air and have a bonfire. We also did readings for each other and it was the night of the Perseid meteor shower. It doesn’t sound like much – a party for my psychic friends – but everyone had such a good time, they wanted me to do it again the next year. I looked up the Persieds for 2015, set a date, and did it again. This time I had a famous storyteller tell us a story about a mortal who married a fairy. It was another great night, and it was then that I began to realize that this would turn into something bigger. The third year we had a fire dancer, and by the fourth year I got the vision for this to be a networking event. It wasn’t until 2018 that I named it The Worldwide Metaphysical Tribe Networking Event. Since then, we have been meeting at a luxury B&B out in the country with speakers, vendors, readers, a pitch table (to pitch your class or workshop to venue owners), and so much more.
What is your favorite Tarot deck? If you don’t have a favorite, do you have one you turn to more than others?
The Mythic Tarot.
Do you think intuition has served you in your work? Why or why not?
Intuition is the basis of all metaphysical work.

There are too many to list. Once you learn to live in the flow, these things happen every day.

Next year, in addition to everything listed above, we will have a famous researcher/author from Canada addressing us on what it is about the metaphysical/paranormal that leads to the same source. His name is Grant Cameron.
